Our Story
About Jarapa
Jarapa is a family-run business based in Somerset, creating and sourcing
sustainable homewares since 2003. What started with traditional Spanish
rugs at local markets has grown into a trusted home interiors brand
serving customers across the UK and Europe.
Today, our handmade recycled glass lamps and lampshades are at the heart of
the business. Designed and assembled by hand in Somerset, they combine
timeless style, quality craftsmanship and sustainable materials to
create beautiful lighting for modern homes.
Sustainability has always guided our choices. Since 2006, we have worked with
specialist Spanish glassmakers producing 100% recycled glass using
environmentally responsible processes and plant-based colour finishes,
helping to reduce waste without compromising on quality.
Alongside our lighting collections, we work with skilled artisans and family-run
workshops in Spain and Morocco to source unique homewares, including
recycled glassware, natural baskets, ceramics and recycled cotton rugs.
More than 20 years on, our mission remains simple: to offer beautifully
made, sustainable products that celebrate craftsmanship, support
traditional makers and bring lasting style to your home.

We endeavour to create products using recycled and natural materials through sustainable methods of production. promote local production and fair trade practices, reduce waste, and support artisan livelihoods and communities.
A lower temperature is required to melt recycled glass and therefore a lot of energy is saved, waste going to landfill is drastically reduced and extraction of sand and raw materials is minimised.
We minimise our carbon footprint by only using sea freight and avoid air freight. We are careful to consolidate all shipments of products and we only ever ship full containers.
The glass recycling chain is a perfect circle in which containers are brought back to life an infinite number of times. It is a clear example of sustainability. Every small gesture represents a commitment to the environment.
